A pride in work well done, fast response and technical expertise, and a respect for people and commitments are all values that have inspired the Briand Group for more than 60 years.

From my grandfather's smithy to today's modern production tools, we have not forgotten our humble origins and those simple values which will form part of the Group's developments today and tomorrow.

We know that we cannot afford to rest on our laurels. In this changing environment we have to continually question ourselves if we are to progress, and listen to the people who work for us if we are to develop our know-how.

The Briand Group tests, experiments and develops innovative solutions for sustainable buildings. We are convinced that regular use of steel and glulam in building construction is an improved response to environmental needs, both for industrial and commercial buildings and for offices and homes.

With this commitment in mind, in April 2010 we are going to take possession of our new head offices, the first low-consumption office building in France using metal girder construction. Its design has made use of the latest techniques in thermal simulation and the extensive use of steel demonstrates the advantage of this design: speed, clean work on site, competitive pricing, all using the only building material that is 100% recyclable and recycled: steel.

In the same spirit, by equipping our production units with photovoltaic generators, we produce more electricity than the annual electricity consumption of all our workers. Just another practical proof of the shared commitment to progress of the staff of the Briand Group.
