The environment promise
Building while protecting future generations - that is the Briand Group's commitment.
This concern for society is found at the very heart of our business:
- Metal construction is fast and simple to implement, with minimal wastage and assembly with minimum nuisance. Steel offcuts are 100% recyclable and the end-product from recycling has characteristics identical to the original material.
- Glulam construction uses the one material above all others which respects the environment, with its very low emissions of greenhouse gases, because laminated wood actually stores up CO2, not to mention the technical characteristics of heat and sound insulation that wood offers. All the timber we use comes from sustainably-managed woodland.
- Building photovoltaic roofs, awnings and guard rails is directly aimed at developing non-polluting solar energy. To date, the Briand Group has installed more than 3 MWc of equipment and itself invested in more than 30,000 m² of photovoltaic roofing.
This commitment can be seen in the very practical, everyday activities of our company: we recycle building waste, we insulate our buildings heavily to reduce heat loss, we choose non-toxic materials, we recycle wood chips to generate energy and heat our production buildings independently.
Beyond that, with our know-how we test, experiment and seek to imagine the building of the future: low-cost to build and energy-saving. We take a long-term view of a building, searching for and implementing innovative solutions to make our work ecologically designed, energy-saving and low-impact on the environment.
