The deck of the Charente Sud viaduct is a 375 m long double girder, of the “estacade” type, i.e. made up of a succession of independent deck modules resting at their ends on common hinged piers.
It supports the two tracks of the LGV SEA as it crosses the Charente valley, in the municipalities of Linars on the right bank and Nersac on the left bank (Charente department).
The viaduct comprises four decks, each 65m – 180m – 65m – 65m long. The main deck is made up of beams of constant height, equal to 3.4 m. For the 2-span decks, the beams vary in height from 3.4 m to 3.8 m.
